Yes- my sisters really stepped up! I think we had 45 or so balloons!!! The parents were surprised, confused and loved it You may use the pics in your blog:)
It was fun and a great feeling. We have a little old neighbor lady who’s kids never visit, one took her car so she’s stranded here all the time. I’m planning on seeing if I can pick anything up from the store for her, but haven’t had time trying to balance both babies, so not sure I’ll make it in time for your blog- but you’ve inspired me!!!

YC:
Our family act of kindness comes a little late, but with much thought. 31 Bags of Fritos (couldn’t find chili cheese) his favorite snack and 31 white t-shirts
(Chaz rocked the tshirt look every night walking through the neighborhood w the kids) all donated to Camping for a Cause, an outreach group that assembles care bags to be given to the homeless. Gone but not forgotten, we miss you Chaz.

SO: “Brought donuts into work today in honor of Chaz’s birthday! Praying for you today Sarah!”

JS: “Acts of Kindness. Hi Sarah! I have some acts of kindness I did but haven’t had a chance to type something out to share (sorry) so I wanted to quick tell you a few of them! The things we did for Chaz….
1) A girl on a garage sale site was looking to buy preemie clothes for her daughter who is in NICU. I contacted her and brought her all of M’s old preemie clothes and gave them to her for free. About a month go was the first time I was willing to let go of any of M’s things (to strangers). With the whole FA thing I’ve held onto everything of hers and it was hard of me to let it go. But I did it, and I hope her daughter was able to use the items I gave her.
2) I bought someone’s groceries ahead of me in line at the grocery store.
3) I am meeting someone today to give them a bunch of clothes for free from the twins.
A brought his Engineering team to Devos Children’s hospital and they do bingo with the kids that are in-patient.
1) I participate in Amazon smile, am an organ donor and on the bone marrow donor registry, and any time someone is having a fundraiser I participate whether I know them or not. Including an event in Kalamazoo we are going to next weekend for a little girl with a brain tumor.
Lastly I have gathered together all of my suits and business apparel that are in new-like condition and I’m looking for an organization that helps low income women to get jobs to donate them to. If you know of a good place let me know!!
Thought I’d share with you. Sounds like you are doing some wonderful things!!! I think it’s a great example you are setting for your kids!”

JH: At Aldi’s I let a woman go in front of me and left a quarter in the cart.
My random acts of kindness today were leaving pennies on the horse at Meijer, loading groceries onto the belt for a mom of three (her youngest was screaming), and finally I brought bacon wrapped dates to a friend. Trying the dates was on her bucket list.”
RS:
“
Sarah
today my act of kindness was…. I brought the groceries to the lady that was
in front of me in line at the grocery store out to her.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
JA: “ I started mine today. Since Chaz was a co-worker I am directing mine at co-workers and letting them know I care. I won’t say more yet, but today’s felt good.
————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
KR:
“Little things…picked up a spilled box of toys at five below, let someone go ahead of me in line at grocery store, donated a bunch of stuff to salvation army, took care of a neighbors child.”
————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
KF:
“I try to remember this when I drive and let people in front of me and drive “nicer.” But tomorrow I have fun things planned that I’ll post.
We also picked up some random trash in the daycare parking lot, although I think it might have blown out of my car…”
————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
CR: “I just had a dream about Chaz and I love that it happened on his birthday…the dream was about someone’s act of kindness. I received a call and Chaz showed up on the phone. I answered and heard his voice greet. It was amazing. Then it went on to random recordings from dialogue with others around the office. In my dream someone anonymously sent calls from Chaz to a chain of people. Even though it happened via dream I very much appreciated it. Happy Birthday Chaz!”

HC: “ Left quarters on all the meters … That’s a big hooray for those of us in Cali!! Sarah, I love that u did this reminder to spread joy!!!!”
————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
SA: “I got the courage up to make a phone call to help out a friend, and she got the job!”
————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
JG: “My sitter showed up today and I decided to send her home with a paid vacation day. Also got the kids out of the house for 6 hours so my husband could have some uninterrupted chill time. I frequently thought to myself, ‘there’s no way you can complain, because Sarah has to do this every day, ALL day, with three!’ You are an amazing example of courage and strength, Sarah, and I admire you for it every day.”
————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
KK: I remember you saying that Taco Bell was your “first date” with Chaz so I paid for the person behind me in the drive-thru at Taco Bell today. I also gave the cashier this flyer explaining the act of kindness to give to the person behind me. (In hopes of them passing it on).
JA: “ So my random acts today was bought a doughnut for a random lady…. And a guy needed money for the bus and it was his lucky day because I normally don’t give to random people asking for money it but I gladly did it for Chaz!”
————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
VN: “Today i weeded my neighbors flowersbed around there house. They’re out of state for couple months.”
————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
HS: “A and I have our acts of kindness/juiceboxes ready to go for the 4th of July activities tomorrow in allendale. We will be handing them out until they’re gone. There is also a note taped to them explaining why we are giving them out and to check out Sarah’s blog. Can’t wait to do this and I will try to post photos. : )
MBC: “ Sarah, I have to admit I did not do any Acts of Kindness, shame on me. But I want you to know that with your 31 Acts of Kindness project, you made me realize that I am more selfish than I thought I was. So maybe you can add another item on your list of “Acts of kindness” because you made someone aware of their selfishness. I do plan to do random acts of kindness in the very near future. Xoxo!”
Wow! That is every Act of Kindness that was done because I asked friends, family, and supporters to do just one. I counted 60 acts from 27 different people! And I’m sure more great things happened that just weren’t shared with me. How awesome is that?!?!
I can’t even explain how much this helps my heart and my head get through all of this. The kids and I are surrounded by some very thoughtful and generous people. Again, it’s all of these amazing acts that continue to push me to pay it forward.
Thank you to everyone who participated! I am probably going to make this a yearly tradition, so I can’t wait to see your Acts of Kindness next year!
And that’s a little bit from Me Plus 3… TODAY!

I couldn't agree more with Celeste and Dawn (above)! Thank you for being brave enough to change the world, one act of kindness at a time. What a tribute in loving memory of your husband! I so enjoyed this whole series, and this post was one of my favorites as I imagined the ripple effects that will continue on from all the extra people touched by the acts of kindness of all your family and
Reading your posts in the series has touched me. This part of the series however has brought tears to my eyes. You reached out to others to offer up random acts of kindness and look how you involved others and how you touched them and how that just spread and spread! Major kudos to you for finding joy in a challenging and difficult time. I am going to be sure to offer up random acts of
