We’ve been working on a bunch of little projects that I can’t wait to blog about!
But as usual, I’m limited on time that I get to blog. 🙁
However, I am taking some vacation days from work, so I have the next 1.5 weeks off! WOOHOO! I think I mentioned on my About Me page that I work part-time as an engineer. And even though I’m part-time, I still have to put in a lot of extra hours at home.
So, I’m pretty pumped about this time off! I’m planning on spending some quality time with the kids. And I’m hoping it will free up a little time to get my blog on! 🙂
Until then, I just wanted to share a quick project I just finished up tonight…
It’s the Mother’s Day gift to my mother-in-law!
Cute, huh? 🙂
I wanted to do something special and meaningful for her, since this is her first Mother’s Day since Chaz died. And it’s the first time her Mother’s Day gift is coming from just me…
But I also wanted it to be simple!
And it is! It’s just a picture frame with two 5×7 slots. I actually got in from Goodwill for only $1.50! Bargain!!! I love to shop at Goodwill, I’ll have to post all about that soon too! 🙂
On the left, it’s just a picture of Chaz taken on our wedding day. And on the right are the lyrics to the song that he and his mom danced to at our wedding.
The song was “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd. And it’s really a perfect song for a mother-son wedding dance. I’d totally suggest it to anyone out there planning a wedding!
You can listen to it below if you want. It’s a long song, and we actually had our wedding DJ cut out some of the guitar/instrumental part to shorten it. Chaz’s mom loved it though. I think Lynyrd Skynyrd was kind of from her younger years… 🙂
So, there you have it! My simple and cheap inexpensive Mother’s Day gift for my mother-in-law. And I think/hope it will mean a lot to her! I’m sure this Mother’s Day is going to be hard on her, since Chaz isn’t here to give her a call… sigh…
Anyways, I just boxed it up, and I plan on sending it out tomorrow. Eeeek! I hope it gets there before Mother’s Day… I’m always behind on these sorts of things… 😛
Now I need to start working on my gift for my own mom!
What gifts have you given your mother-in-law in the past? And what should I give to MY mom??? 🙂
Well, that’s just a little bit about Me… TODAY!
